ANTEROLATERAL LIGAMENT OF THE KNEE JOINT, ANATOMICAL AND RADIOLOGICAL STUDY
Abstract
Injuries to the anterior cruciate ligament is very common, and its
reconstruction is one of the most common procedures in orthopaedic surgery. But there are still
problems with the patients undergoing this reconstruction. So further studies of the characteristics of
the anterolateral ligament (ALL) of the knee were needed.
This study aims at demonstrating the anterolateral ligament of the knee, determining its length, width at
the meniscus attachments, and its origin and insertion, and to identify this ligament on magnetic
resonance imaging.
